New Game Store in Chicago!

I know this blog is in dire straits when an event I've been anticipating for years happens and I take this long to report it.

Finally! A games store actually in Chicago! Not Evanston, not Oak park, but good-ole Chi-town. The store is called Black Sun Games and they open their doors this Friday, August 22nd. Check out the Website:

It may be a bit before I can make a trip, but as soon as I do, I'll report back.

There is also a new GW store in the Niles/Skokie area. I couldn't believe my eyes when I drove by it the other day. It's in a strip mall along Touhy avenue just west of the Village Crossing mall. That's a bit west of the Edens for those unfamiliar with the area.

I dropped by Black Sun to play Warmachine last night. In my opinion, the BSG guys are doing a much better job than the Gamer's Asylum team: more stock, a better store environment, an actual business plan, etc.

The BSG web site also has a robust Web forum for players to use for game scheduling. There's a link to it off the main page.

There is also another great game store that just opened up in Bucktown that specializes in a huge variety of board games and puzzle called Cat and Mouse Game Store.
